* Urban Ministry is taking over the American Red Cross' toy drive. New, unwrapped toys, ribbons and wrapping paper are needed. Gift cards for $10 each from Safeway, Target, and other area stores, and shaving kits, socks and other small gifts for gift bags are needed for individuals often left out at Christmas. * Jewish Family and Children's Services, Palo Alto -- Needs staples and packaged and canned goods for their food pantry. And holiday grocery bags. Call (650) 688-3030.
