Alex Fisher, Andy Suiter and Tori Tyler will all be attending different colleges on athletic scholarships and playing different sports, but they all will have something in common besides their athletic ability.
All three high school seniors - Fisher and Suiter from Menlo School and Tyler from Gunn High - will compete for teams in the Pac-10.
Fisher, Menlo's star volleyball player, remains closest to home. The 6-2 outside hitter choose to sign a letter of intent with Stanford after narrowing her choices. She also considered Cal, Pepperdine and Santa Clara.
"I have watched Alex play for years and have always felt she would develop into a fine player," Stanford coach John Dunning said. "She is one of the best blockers and servers in the class. As she becomes stronger each year she will continue to improve."
Suiter verbally committed to the UCLA baseball program over the summer, though he had originally also considered Stanford, USC and Texas.
Suiter led the Knights to the CCS Division III championship last spring after winning all of his 12 decisions. He struck out 146 in 88 innings and did not allow an earned run in Peninsula Athletic League play.
He was tabbed the No. 2 left-handed pitcher in California and No. 14 in the country by Team One Baseball.
Tyler, one of the top cross country runners in the state, ran the fourth fastest time ever at Crystal Springs, and the fastest since 1985, earlier this season.
She committed to Washington based on its nursing program as much as its cross country program.
