Film/talk on mountain lions
Film/talk on mountain lions
(October 13, 2004) Later in the month, various local environmental groups will hold a local screening of, "Counting Sheep," a documentary about efforts to protect bighorn sheep and the role of mountain lions in that fight.
The filmmaker Frank Green, a Los Altos native, will discuss the film afterward. Also on hand for the discussion -- including an examination of mountain lion facts and myths -- will be David Baron, author of "The Beast in the Garden," and mountain lion expert Steve Torres, from the California Department of Fish and Game.
The 60-minute film will be shown on Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Gunn High School's Spangenberg Theatre.
Tickets are $6 for general admission and $4 for seniors and students. They are available at the door, at Megabooks on University Avenue, and at Books Inc. in the Stanford Shopping Center.
The screening is sponsored by Acterra, the Sierra Club's Loma Prieta Chapter, and San Francisco film production company Green TV.
