WINEMAKER'S DINNER . . .

Stoa will host a dinner featuring Penfolds Winery on Monday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. Penfolds is an Australian winery. Penfolds' wine ambassador to the US, Matthew Lane, and chef Brandon Paige have collaborated to create unique pairings for the event, choosing ingredients and flavors to complement each wine.

The Village Pub will host a dinner featuring the wines of Kermit Lynch on Monday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. The dinner will feature a four-course menu, paired wines and discussion.

OTHER RESTAURANT NEWS . . .

The Asian Chefs Association will host a dinner on Sunday, Sept. 19 at Three Seasons Restaurant , 518 Bryant St. in Palo Alto. Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. The dinner will feature a six-course menu paired with wines. Chefs from five restaurants, including Three Seasons, Roy's, Ana Mandara, Osaka Grill and Butterfly, will participate, with each preparing a course. There will also be live Vietnamese jazz music and a live auction that will include select wines and dining gift certificates.

Dinner in the Garden will take place on Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Gamble Garden, 1431 Waverley St. (off Embarcadero Road) in Palo Alto. Guests may tour the gardens, enjoy a glass of wine on the Tea House Patio and dine on the Carriage House Patio. The alfresco dinner will offer a five-course meal of "Mamma's authentic recipes" from Caffe Riace, Ristorante Italiano of Palo Alto.

"The Art of the Mooncake" will be demonstrated at Ming's, 1700 Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto. There will be demonstrations during lunch on Sept. 18 and 25 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Ming's will also offer a special Moon Festival dinner menu Sept. 26-28.
