The Music@Menlo chamber-music festival will open tonight at 7:30 p.m. with "Encounter: The Music of Italy." Blusion will perform at the Brown Bag Concert Series today at noon at Cogswell Plaza, located at the corner of Lytton Avenue and Ramona Street. Victor Lin's SJW Faculty Variety Show will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Campbell Recital Hall, as part of the 2004 Stanford Jazz Festival. "Is This Seat Taken?" will run through Aug. 15 at Stanford University's Eleanor Prosser Theatre. Presented by Stanford's Theatre Q, the play is a comic drama about an upper-class dysfunctional family who reunites one Thanksgiving weekend. Written by Chay Yew, the story follows a celebrated Chinese-American novelist as she absorbs inspiration for her next work in Beijing.
