FLOWERS AND BEES . . . Mason Harris, a beekeeper at Filoli, will offer a workshop on Saturday, July 10, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, on "Bees, Flowers, Fruits and Honey" for families interested in the process. The workshop includes an orchard walk and each family gets to take home a jar of Filoli honey. Fee is $25 for one adult and one child (age 5 and up), with additional tickets at $10. ONE-OF-A-KIND ART . . . More than 200 artists will display their wares at this year's Connoisseurs' Marketplace, held on Santa Cruz Avenue, between El Camino Real and Johnson Street, in Menlo Park July 17 and 18, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On display will be ceramics, textiles, glass, wood, metal, paintings and more. The free festival includes two stages with jazz, soul, r&b and swing music, celebrity chefs' demonstrations, food and wine (and microbrews) and a kids' fun zone. NOT JUST A PRETTY BOOK . . . Ann Coombs has revised "Trees of Los Altos," complete with trees to plant near streams and caring for elderly oaks. Everything from acacia baileyana (mimosa) to zelkova serata (Japanese zelkova) is included, complete with color photo, description and locations. The 88-page booklet is available for $12 at Los Altos City Hall, the Los Altos History Museum, Los Altos Nursery and other local sites. Proceeds from sale of the book will benefit local charitable organizations.
