"Daffodils at Filoli," a watercolor with ink by Bill Cheney, is currently on display at Filoli in Woodside. Cheney is a Filoli art instructor and a nature education docent.
Thursday
Eddie Gale Now Band will perform tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Stanford Shopping Center, in the gardens of the Clock Tower Plaza (near Neiman Marcus), as part of Summer Jazz 18. "Pierre and Marie" will be presented through June 19 at the Bus Barn Theatre, 97 Hillview Ave. in Los Altos. The production is a biographical comedy about Pierre and Marie Curie, adapted by Ron Clark from the French original, "Les Palmes de M. Schutz," by Jean-Noel Fenwick. Show times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m.; Sunday, June 6 and 13 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances; $20 for Sundays. Group discounts are available. "The American Landscape" will run through June 30 at the Lyons Ltd. Antique Print Gallery, located in the Town and Country Village in Palo Alto. Sista Monica and D.B. Walker will perform tonight at Foothills Park, 3300 Page Mill Road in Palo Alto. Sista Monica is a blues, soul and gospel singer, while Walker also specializes in the blues. This "Green Blues" concert will be presented by Acterra: Action for a Sustainable Earth and the City of Palo Alto Department of Open Space & Sciences. Tickets are $15 (free for kids under 12). "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" will preview tonight at 8 p.m. at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Presented by the Palo Alto Players, the show will officially open on Saturday at 8 p.m. Additional performances will take place at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 13 and 27. There will be no performance on June 20. Ticket prices are $17 for tonight's preview; $21 for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday performances; $25 for Friday and Saturday evenings; $27 for Saturday's opening-night performance, with a gala to follow.
