Sally Ann Davenport

Sally Ann Davenport, 68, a longtime resident of Menlo Park, died May 25 after a five-year battle with cancer.

She was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, majoring in Technical Journalism. She moved to New York City after graduation, where she was employed at Vogue Magazine.

She moved to Menlo Park in 1964. She worked for INTASA, Inc., and was a co-founder of SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (formerly Liposome Technology, Inc.), now a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.

She is survived by her beloved companion of 32 years, Dr. Benjamin H. Moore of Menlo Park; daughters, Nancy Davenport of Menlo Park and Catherine Davenport of Manhattan Beach; son, Michael Davenport of Redwood City; sister, Mary Lou Murray of Durango, Colo.; brother, Dennis Mahedy of Charlotte, N.C.; mother, Marian Mahedy of Des Moines, Iowa; and three grandchildren. Her eldest son, Arthur Davenport, died in 1976.

Services have been held.

Dorothy Salabert

Dorothy Lynn Salabert, 54, a native of Palo Alto, died May 22 in Stanford.

She was born Feb. 21, 1950, in Palo Alto and graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1968 and the University of California Santa Cruz. She later became a drug and alcohol counselor for Utah's prison system.

She was an avid Barbie doll collector who loved to drink Diet Coke and make crafts. But her one true love was her beautiful grandsons, whom she was always giving into their every whim. She will be truly missed and forever loved by her little family.

She is survived by her grandmother, Dorothy Arbuckle; her parents, Richard and Georgia Arbuckle Hays; her sisters, Carrie Wolk, Molly Kane, Bobbi Zadig and Becky Hollerback; her husband, Thomas Salabert; her daughter, Jessica Distefano, and husband, Dusty; and two grandsons.

A memorial service celebrating her life was held May 27. Donations may be made in her name to a German Shepard Rescue Foundation.
Doris H. Watson

Doris H. Watson, 89, a longtime resident of Palo Alto, died May 26.

She worked for Hiller Helicopter in Palo Alto for three years and in the industry for more than 20 years as a helicopter design engineer.

A member of the Palo Alto Arts Guild, she loved to paint in watercolors and play bridge.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Frank Watson of Palo Alto; and sister, Helen Rich of Philadelphia, Pa.

Private services will be held.
Louise T. Watson

Louise T. Watson, 84, a longtime resident of Palo Alto and Pleasant Hill, died May 2 in Concord after a long illness.

She taught for the Palo Alto Unified School District for 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Florence O'Donovan Demarest, and husband, Jerry, of Placerville, Calif.; daughter, Ann Y. Watson, and husband, Peter Valberg, of Needham, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

She was buried at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto. Private services have been held.
