WILD SUCCESS . . . Pam Peirce, author of "Golden Gate Gardening: The Complete Guide to Year-Round Food Gardening in the San Francisco Bay Area and Coastal California," will give a talk called "Wildly Successful Plants for Northern California," on Saturday, June 5, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a book-signing. Peirce will discuss soil types and weather conditions that affect successful gardening. Fee is $17. The talk will be at Common Ground, 559 College Ave., Palo Alto.
