Lewis Alba

Lewis Alba, a resident of Menlo Park for 40 years, died on April 5 at the age of 86.

Born in New York City on Aug. 31, 1917, he completed his high school education there before serving in the World War II Pacific campaign. After operating Orbit gas station in Mountain View for several years, he delivered newspapers for the San Francisco Chronicle. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Anderson Buick-Cadillac Car Dealership in Menlo Park.

He loved to run errands and keep busy, especially with garage sales and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Alba of Menlo Park.

Private funeral services have been held.
Donata M. Hare

Donata M. Hare, 54, a former resident of Palo Alto, died April 6 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital, South Pasadena, Fla.

Born in Milan, Italy, she moved to Florida in 2000 from Palo Alto, where she had lived since 1987. She was a language teacher, member of PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) and PCRM, an animal-rights organization.

She is survived by her daughter, Arabella Hare of San Diego; and many cousins in Italy. The family will schedule memorial services for a later date. Margaret Olsen

Margaret Downey Olsen died March 15 in Los Altos.

A recent peninsula resident, she lived for many years in the Oakland Hills. She was active in the Berkeley Repertory Theatre Backstagers and was an elementary school teacher in Walnut Creek for more than 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Gordon; a sister; two children and three grandchildren.

The family requests donations to the UC Berkeley Scholarship Fund.
