Jessica Meyers and Ian Leonard co-star in TheatreWorks' "My Antonia," which opens this weekend at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Previews are being staged March 31 through April 2.
"The American Landscape" will open on Thursday at Lyons Ltd. Antique Print Gallery, located in the Town and Country Village in Palo Alto.
Thursday
"My Antonia" will preview tonight and Friday at 8 p.m. at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St. (corner of Mercy). Adapted by Scott Schwartz from Willa Cather's masterpiece, the TheatreWorks play features music by Stephen Schwartz. Set in Nebraska in the 1880s, "My Antonia" chronicles the story of an immigrant girl whose passion and resilience define the pioneer spirit. "My Antonia" will open on Saturday at 8 p.m. Show times are Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m. (8 p.m. only on April 3 and 10); Sundays at 2 and 7 p.m. (2 p.m. only April 4 and 25). "Visual Voice" audio-described performances will be available April 23-24 at 8 p.m., and April 25 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20-$48; discounts are available for youth, students, seniors and members. "All My Sons" will be presented through April 4 at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Written by Arthur Miller, the play focuses on an airplane parts manufacturer whose wartime profiteering may have compromised his own son, a pilot missing in action. The exhibition which runs through June 30, draws from a 300-year history of English and American printmakers depicting America the Beautiful. "The Goodbye Girl" will be presented through April 17 at the Bus Barn Theatre, 97 Hillview Ave. in Los Altos. The musical comedy chronicles the unlikely romance between a bitter single mother and an opinionated actor It features book by Neil Simon, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by David Zippel. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; 3 p.m. on April 4. A discussion will take place on April 9. Tickets are $28 for shows Thursday through Saturday; $22 for Sundays. "3 Artists," featuring paintings by Kayomi Harai and Lucy Liew and carved cardboard by Judy Johnson-Williams, will open today at the Center for Integrated Systems Art Spaces, located on the Stanford University campus. The Pacific Art League will showcase experimental art in all media through April 28. The juried show will honor artists who have taken their work to the limits of their medium and beyond. Collie researches the use of art in psychosocial support services for people with cancer. Simon Shaheen and the Near Eastern Music Ensemble will perform tonight at 8 p.m. at Stanford University's Dinkelspiel Auditorium. Presented by Stanford Lively Arts, the program will feature a tribute to Mohamed Abdel Wahab and Um Kalthum. A free pre-performance discussion will take place at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $36/$32. Hidden Villa will present storyteller Megumi tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Visitors Welcome Center. Megumi will share true stories about the Japanese-American Internment during World War II. "Untitled," a one-woman, will be presented tonight at 8 p.m. at the Cubberley theatre, 4000 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto.
