The Children of Uganda will perform this week at both the Community School of Music and Arts and at Stanford University.
Thursday

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" will open tonight at 6:15 p.m. at Gunn High School's Spangenberg Auditorium, 780 Arastradero Road in Palo Alto. There will be a lecture and reception. Additional performances will take place March 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the opening night are $15. Tickets are $8 for other evening performances. There will also be a matinee on March 24 at 3:30 p.m.; tickets are $4. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Student Activities Office at Gunn High School. Call (650)354-8228 for information.

The Children of Uganda
will present an hour-long lecture/demonstration tonight at 6 p.m. at the Community School of Music and Arts, 230 San Antonio Circle in Mountain View. Presented by Stanford Lively Arts in conjunction with CSMA, the event is free and open to the public, and is designed with families in mind. There will also be time for questions from the audience. "A Chorus Line" will be presented tonight at 8 p.m. at Palo Alto High School's Haymarket Theatre, 50 Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto. Additional show times are Friday at 4 p.m. and March 20, 25, 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. There will also be an opening weekend gala on Saturday. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. "All My Sons" will run through March 28 at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto. Written by Arthur Miller, the play focuses on an airplane parts manufacturer whose wartime profiteering may have compromised his own son, a pilot missing in action. "Show times are Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 8 p.m.; additional 2 p.m. performance on March 20; Sundays at 2 p.m. "Visual Voice" audio-described performances will be available March 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. and March 28 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20-$48; discounts are available for youth, students, seniors and members. The Children of Uganda
will perform a program of East African music and dance tonight at 8 p.m. at Stanford's Memorial Auditorium. The concert will be presented by Stanford Lively Arts. There will be a free post-performance discussion that will be open to the public. Tickets are $36/$30/$20. Half-price tickets are available for people age 15 and under, and discounts are available for students. The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) will present Professor William Fredlund in a lecture about Leonardo DaVinci of "The DaVinci Code" tonight from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The lecture begins CSMA's new "Classes w/o Quizzes" Visual Arts Lectures Series, which will present four events during its inaugural 2004 spring series. The series will be held in CSMA's 200-seat concert hall, located at 230 San Antonio Circle in Mountain View. Limited, open seating is available, with general admission tickets $10 and student/senior admission (with ID) for $8. "Diva Dish,"
a multi-media show about Hollywood celebs presented by Luke Yankee, will take place tonight at 8 p.m. at the Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Road in Palo Alto. "Picasso to Thiebaud:Modern Contemporary Art from the Collections of Stanford University Alumni and Friends" will be on display through June 20 at the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford University. The exhibition will feature more than 70 prints, drawings and photographs from the early 17th century to the present, featuring artists as subjects. The Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra
