PLOT YOUR PLOT . . . Master gardeners will demonstrate how to design a garden plot, as well as how to plant and cultivate veggies, tomorrow, 9 to 11 a.m. at Gamble Garden Center, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. Master gardeners will offer advice on the best vegetables to grow around here, preparing soil, correct seedling planting and managing pests without poisons. For information, call (650) 329-1356.
WILDFLOWER WISDOM . . . Timmy Gallagher, a longtime Filoli guide and author, will talk about the best places to spot wildflowers at the next meeting of the De Anza chapter of the American Rhododendron Society on Wednesday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. The group meets at the Hillview Community Center, Room 16, 97 Hillview Ave., Los Altos. ALMOST EDEN . . . Volunteer workers are needed for the Almost Eden Garden Project, an organic garden that grows veggies for homeless and low-income families. The next work day is slated for Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at the garden, located behind the Palo Alto Baptist Church at 701 E. Meadow Drive, Palo Alto.
