William E. Brigham, a professor emeritus of petroleum engineering at Stanford University, died Feb. 15. A memorial service will be held in his honor Thursday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Stanford Memorial Church, Palm Drive, Stanford University. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to The William E. Brigham Fund, Department of Petroleum Engineering, Stanford University, Stanford, CA 94305; or to the American Cancer Society.
J. Robert Hammond, a longtime resident of Palo Alto, died at the age of 89. A memorial service will be held in his honor Monday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Unity Palo Alto Community Church, 3391 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
Kurt Steiner, a professor emeritus of political science at Stanford University, died Oct. 20, 2003. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at the Stanford University Faculty Club to commemorate the lives of Steiner and his wife, Josepha "Kitty," who died shortly before him on Sept. 29, 2003. Memorial donations may be made to the Steiner Bench Fund, 420 McKinley St. #440, Corona, CA 92879-6504.
