JOINED AT THE POOL ... Like superheroes becoming the Superfriends, four local swim clubs have joined forces into one Olympic-sized group. The Palo Alto Swim Club, Alpine Portola Aquatics, Stanford Covington Racing Aquatics and University Club are now under the umbrella of the newly-formed Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics. We suspect Aquaman is the group's favorite Superfriend, but that's just a guess. "The PASA team shares an overall philosophy and coaching style while retaining the original small-team feel of the individual sites," the new group's Web site (www.pasaswim.org) notes.
