| Arastradero Preserve
Hike
on gently sloping trails through meadows leading to Arastradero Lake,
approximately 20 minutes from the parking lot. Fishing is allowed
in this city-owned preserve which includes 6.26 miles of hiking in
savanna grassland and broad leaf evergreen forest. Horses and bikes
allowed. Dogs allowed on weekdays only. No barbecues, fires or camping.
Cross under Interstate 280 on Page Mill Road, turn right onto Arastradero
Road and park in the lot a half-mile up on the right. Call Foothills
Park at 329-2423 for information about nature programs conducted
at the preserve. Open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset.
