I just took a look at some of the problems from the semi-final competition. Yikes! I would have had a hard time with them even after a full course of freshman physics. I counted 5 semi-finalists from Palo Alto. We have such incredibly great schools here. I can't understand the negative opinions you hear on these message boards. Folks don't know how lucky we are.

Gold medals for both of the Palo Alto kids! Congratulations!

The PA Weekly should run a story on this. It's amazing that one school district can produce two gold medalists in a single year.
