Human-Animal Hybrids - What Do You Think?

In a diversion from the usual municipal nail-biting, here's something that it would be neat to have a discussion about. We're not quite going to fully grown hybrids, but this will definitely open the door to that possibility,

What's wrong with it? If this procedure provides stem cells that help with human disease, what is the issue? We already grind up huaman beings to provide such cells, so why not hybrids?

I believe the ethical question is whether one can preform tests on a hybrid that are not allowable on a human. Like many another problem in ethics, SciFi has been there, done that, Larry Nivins in particular, I believe.

I don't understand what the benefit is of creating hybrids to get stem cells? Did I miss something in the article? Do the eggs not interact with the human cells except to provide a growth medium? If they interact, it would seem that the stem cells would be useless to humans.

Although the whole thing is also another way humans misuse animals.
