Given that De La Vega admits that Charter schools "have shown great success" she preferred saving a failing school district rather EDUCATING CHILDREN. What a poor priority! She systematically blocked educational opportunities for our children. It's about educating children, NOT saving friends' jobs. Good teachers are employable. It seems to me that she hindered all more than helped- good riddance!
Hopefully the next Superintendent will have educating our CHILDREN as a TOP priority by advocating the implementation of a sound, relevant, successful approach to education -whether business, academic, etc.and making sure that teachers & administrators care about children & parents and are more than competent at accomplishing their jobs.

PAUSD needs a new superintendent, too, but no one seems to know how we go about getting rid of the old, defective one. One would think he would resign out of a sense of pride, as he has made PAUSD a tainted product with his recent behaviors and inactions and indifferences, to say nothing of his cold insincerity.

There have been so many calls for his termination, and the rest of the Bay Area is wondering what is wrong with the PA school board that they have not done so months ago, lest we become a laughingstock.

I agree with the first comment...that is the reason why I took my children out of the Ravenswood District.
