According to this person's blog, the passing motorist was none other than Sally Lieber who is running for State Senate District 13.
PA Weekly you might want to do a follow-up on this...
I KNEW Sally Lieber was a woman of courage! I would love to read more about this.
Please check out the link in "Read Up on Lieber" above. I have always admired Sally and this is really something that people should take notice of. She stood up and did the right thing to help this young woman even when it was probably most inconvenient for her. Thank you Sally. I must say the robo call I received from Eric Brockovich the other night supporting you is the only one I listened to in it's entirety. One woman of courage supporting another! You go Sally!! I really hate robo calls in general and was particularly annoyed at the one from Caswell/Townsend the other night. They didn't get anyone whom I admire to do the ad however. Thanks for a breath of fresh air Sally. I will be voting for you on Tuesday!
OOPS......sorry, I meant Erin Brockovich!
Come on, in the right place and the right time, who wouldn't help someone in need ... and I hate to say this, but in this cynical political atmosphere one never knows the lengths and depths candidates will go to get positive publicity.
Do they know yet if this the same guy that in the PAO several weeks back on multiple incidents of trying to assault women?
@bru: You obviously don't know anything about Sally or you wouldn't say that. People of lesser character might do something just to get positive publicity. Sally doesn't need to publicly do good deeds to redeem herself unlike Romney and his "disaster relief bus". Geeze, give me a break on this one! Sally is good woman and she was just doing the right thing.
Please stop making this thread about Lieber. It's not about her. I'm frequently in that area, and sometimes have to be on foot, as are women that I know. Women especially need to be as careful as possible, which is why the alert system is important. We can't always count on someone stopping to help us in case of an emergency. Luckily, there are a number of cars in that area at night, so getting fast help is obviously doable.
According to the Daily Post, a blonde woman was with the man who grabbed the student, but did nothing to stop the attack.
