Vic, why not run again, yourself? You were an excellent City Council member - measured, and thoughtful, with strong leadership qualities. Why not make a return appearance?

I found Vic Ojakian's GO full of the usual bureaucratic platitudes that one would expect from a former Mayor and Council person from Palo Alto. He had no new ideas on how to attract suitable candidates for City Council. Mr Ojakian failed to even mention one positive solution - reduce the size of our City Council from 9 to 7 members. We have quantity and we badly need quality. Council has made some very poor decisions lately i.e. $20 Million for Enron and an abysmal website just to mention two Another four years of this kind of performance will permanently degrade our City.

Sadly, On the contrary, Mr. Ojakian set out a number of concerns and initiatives, with ideas about where potential candidates might come from. His GO is a plea for more participation in public service.
Rather than attack the messenger, perhaps it might be better to put yourself in the race.
