Regarding all those choppers flying around this morning to report on the crashed big rig, it seems to me there ought to be some sort of "no hover" ordinance around residential areas in the wee hours. Sleep is a precious commodity.

There seems to have been an increase in the accidents on 101 at Palo Alto. Stop it!

To "Also concerned" --

I was hoping the PA Weekly staff would filter you out, but since they're not around, I'll just jump in. Please leave your juvenile attitude off Town Square; we don't need you here. I assume you're responding to the original poster, "Crescent Park Mom." When I read her post, I sympathized because, A) the helicopters also woke up my young children, who need their sleep because B) I'm a mom and I work AND I commute, which means they're out of the house all day. And I, like many other working moms here in Palo Alto, stayed up til 2 AM trying to fit work around family time. So yes, sleep is a precious commodity and few of us get enough. My guess is that you don't have children, so whatever your problem is, please keep the immature attitude out of this forum. I particularly take offense to your suggestion that because the poster is a mom, that she isn't working. Shame on you.

To "Irritated"--

You claim to be up until 2 AM trying to fit work around family time, but you have enough time to be surfing this site and chastising posters. My guess is that you need to be spending a little more time with the kids and a little less time with your computer. You have a big chip on your shoulder about being a working mom that you need to resolve by looking in the mirror. Get a sense of humor. Good on you, "Also Concerned", you keep me smiling, and I don't have a job to commute to.

Well, "Also concerned" sounds to me like s/he has some big fat sexist issues. Or some kind of weird bias. It's just so vaguely belligerent, and why? I'm with Irritated. I just don't think that kind of unspecific, personal attack belongs here. I love to laugh, but I fail to see any humor there.

'Course, maybe "Also concerned" is really just someone's 11-year-old who's defying the Net Nanny. Yeah, that's probably it.

p.s. Yeah, a first for me, too! I agreed with Walter E. Wallis... what gives?!?! Better call the doctor - maybe I'm getting a touch of kermudgeonitis. :-)

Wow, sounds like two of you have major PMS issues here with the passive aggressive comments. "I don't believe in personal attacks but big fat sexist issues and defying Net Nanny don't qualify". Yeah right. Who are you kidding about kermudgeonitis. Sounds like you are alone, because of PMS or behavior symptoms resembling it. Read your comments when you cool off and see the truth. Lets have civil discourse and cut the passive aggressive insults. Or have the guts to be straight up about it.

Peace, out.

HUH! Just because of a little noise in our sleepy little town this thread has turned ugly!

The people who were doing the fly bys no doubt lost their sleep also, but they were on a mission and those of us who always want to know what is going on or need their service should be grateful. Please quit whining! I actually bow my head and give a short prayer whenever I see choppers overhead...most around here are headed for Stanford Hospital.........
