The snails had very little garlic and were pretty tastless, just oily.
The duck was dried out and hard to chew and was flavorless.
The vegetables consisted of a little bit of mashed potatoes and some ordinary veggies one gets anywhere, nothing interesting.
The crepes were the special of the night. They were filled with raw apples and strawberries with a little whipped cream and a dab of chocolate sauce was added on top. I couldn't even eat it after two bites. I've had fruit filled crepes before and expected partially cooked fruit and added flavoring. This was like taking a tortilla and wrapping it around just cut apples and strawberries with no sauce. The bit of whipped cream didn't help. The entire thing was dry.
Perhaps this was an off night. However, I recommend avoiding this restaurant.

I could not disagree more, Le Petit Bistro is a fabulous restaurant, with excellent French cuisine. When I had dinner there, owner and chef Jean Michel prepared the salmon especially for us without the puff pastry and added asparagus spears. The salmon was prepared perfectly and was delicious.
I have to ask the resident from Midtown what is wrong with raw apples and strawberries - does everything have to be cooked with added artificial flavorings? I had the fruit dish which, after the salmon, complimented my palate perfectly.
Le Petit Bistro is a rare thing today, a genuine French restaurant. Maybe the resident from Midtown should eat at highly spiced Italien or Mexican restaurants because that's obviously the kind of food he likes. I personally prefer the nuance of fine French cuisine.
I thoroughly recommend Le Petit Bisto and, if you like fine French cooking, this is the place to go.

Is the original poster the same person who posted at least two other reviews of other restaurant at the same time? He or she seems to be positive on Cafe Sophia and negative on other restaurants. Perhaps an employee or owner?

I'm not an employee, just a occasional customer, of Cafe Sofia.
I've had great French food both abroad and in California. I love French food. However, the restaurants I liked closed years ago; I don't even remember their names, except for Pear Williams the original.
I liked Le Petit Bistro years ago too. Last year, it was merely disappointing but still pretty satisfactory. This past April 7 it was awful. Perhaps there was a substitute chef. Obviously, one had to know what to order. In a good restaurant, that should not be the case; everything should be good.
A crepe which is dry and tasteless is not a crepe. Real liquor in some kind of sauce (no artificial flavoring) usually helps. Fruit which is not totally raw or which is of excellent quality is also a help. The apple was not in slices, but in CHUNKS and not sweet.
When were you last there Brigit?
