I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT there are NO other comments on this subject....

WHY is this town snubbing the mentally challenged, people that live in this community.. the people who obviously need the help.........If the problem is left to fester and escalate, who then will everyone blame? (The police for not arresting the down and outers for urinating on University Ave? For trying to sleep on the benches and doorways on University Ave for lack of housing? For scaring the ladies and children for the way they look because they are scruffy looking and /or smell?)
There are the people who can not get medical attention and then walk around dazed, some are injured and don't get help until they absolutely collapse (and end up in the hospital..or are found dead sitting upright on the bench.....IT HAS happened a few times over the past few years, right on University Ave. yOU were just lucky you were not the one to find the person..)
Mental Health issues need to be addressed for the mental health of ALL of us....
Support this issue anyway you can. Be positive and do not be afraid to be vocal about this issue .... Santa Clara County Supervisors need to know our community supports funding of the Mental Health Programs here in NORTH COUNTY...the office here in Palo Alto may close permanentally, abandoning clients into the streets who will have a hard time getting help from the main office of Mental Health in San Jose...
