Child UNFRIENDLY Restaurant - Mint Leaf
Original post made by SVMom on Mar 28, 2008
I am still fuming.... I was "rejected" from Mint Leaf Restaurant last night when I walked in with four children. It was only 5:30pm and the restaurant was basically EMPTY.
They told me that they could not put two tables together to seat five of us....
I posted about the whole event on Silicon Valley Moms Blog:
... but just wanted to let everyone to avoid this restaurant if you are planning to take your kids. Seriously, they don't want your business.

You mentioned that you all ended up at Rangoon (at 575 Bryant). That is one of our favorite restaurants in Palo Alto. The noon luncheon prices are very affordable (about $5.50 for a substanial entree with many to choose from), rice, soup, and appetizer plus tea and the fortune cookie. The food itself is superb. Dinner portions are generous, the service has always been flawless.
It's "off University" , and deserves a lot of patronage and support. Very nice place. Parking at City Center garage if you can't find street parking. If you can, get there before 11:45 or after 1:00 to miss the downtown worker crowd. It is popular.

Haven't posted in a while, but have to give another hearty recommendation for Rangoon. Although we usually get take-out, the staff is incredibly nice. They recognize my voice on picking up the phone.
My recommendations - spelling is way off:
* Kala Hin
* Aloo Kehin
* Coconut Rice
* Broccoli in Garlic Sauce
