Satura Cakes - quite terrible
Original post made by Marcello on Aug 8, 2006
The cakes were way below average.
And it's expensive too.
For those who don't mind going to downtown Los Gatos, I would recommend Fleur de Cocoa instead.

I am all for fine pastries but $2.50-3.00 for a donut come on. This is a new business for PA. I do realize that they have other stores but because you are new, how about some free samples people. I decided to buy some donuts and take them to a co workers for breakfast on day, $24.00 for 8 donuts. Since when is flour and sugar so expensive? maybe I'm in the wrong line or work, or maybe a big huge sucker. Krispie Cream rocks! sorry, I don't see any value to spending more for this place, the customer service sucks and the pastries are soooooo average. What a rip!!!
So not worth the money! I am an avid traveler and dining connoisseur. I will spend a good dollar for something I feel is quality in addition premium service and this is a waste of time and money. I'm sure they will do ok, Palo Alto has enough tourists with a sweet tooth to keep the rent paid. I won't be back.

Way too expensive and not worth the money. You're right, sugar and flour is not that expensive. I realize downtown rents are high, but don't insult us with your expensive, not so worthy pastries. Take this back to Japan or Europe it just does not taste good! Costco cakes and pastries taste better than this!
Also, agree, their customer service is non exsistent. How about a sample before we pay those ridiculous prices. They are probably afraid that if they give samples customer will discover their stuff is tasteless!
I give it a 2 on a scale of 10 --Disappointing!!!

I lived in Japan for awhile. I was frequently "tricked" by beautiful cakes and pastries that were neither rich nor sweet.
The Japanese just prefer precision prepared cakes and pastries that are not too heavy, too rich or too sweet, but made to exact standards.
They're thinner and live longer, too.
