Too fast for our mayor

a portion below:
"The Palo Alto City Council's decision this week to initiate potential zoning changes to accommodate Stanford's expansion proposals revealed that at least two council members are concerned the project may be moving too swiftly.
Although Mayor Yoriko Kishimoto and Council Member Peter Drekmeier expressed some misgivings, they joined in the 5-0 vote late Monday night approving Stanford's request to expand its medical center by 1.3 million square feet and shopping center by 240,000 square feet. Four council members did not vote because of potential conflicts of interest with Stanford."
Forget about the state mandate with regard to seismic upgrades of hospitals--this project must be put through the rigorous PA process according to two of Stanford's biggest fans of the city council.
With some luck maybe our mayor can get this on the "Alma Plaza" track--12+ years and still no final solution voted on by the council.
Long live the PA process!!!

A delay will only hurt Palo Alto residents who count on Stanford Hospital for medical attention. The present facilities are full to overflowing, if you need immediate hospitalization you probably won't be admitted to Stanford because there's no room available.
