Pedometers get people walking, study finds

Just in time for the holiday season and celebratory meals, Stanford University researchers have concluded that using pedometers gets people walking -- and they become more active generally.

How about getting everyone on your list a pedometer for Christmas, Hannukah, or whatever.

What's a good pedometer? I know someone that has one that doesn't work well.

The Palo Alto Recreation department had been selling them at cost over at the Lucie Stern Center. I have one and it works great. Just be sure that when you place it on your waistband that it sits directly in line over your kneecap. That will give you the most accurate reading.

i walk 10-12 mi. a day, found a good pedometer is the Omrun HJ112. very accurate, easy to use
