Thank goodness i hope they close it down he miss treat people and don't pay well. [Portion removed.] They deserve to get that store closed down and make a safeway or something better or a dds discoutn store
OMG like they say Karma is a B**** they are mindless, careless people that doesn't care about any one but themselves. I hope they close it . We need a store that hire East Palo Alto people and take care of our people
GOOD THEY DESERVE IT THEY treat people bad
As high as their prices are I don't know how they could be going bankrupt. It is almost as bad as whole foods or the Safeway in Palo alto's prices.
This is great news! They treat their employees like crap and their prices are too high. This space should of been utilized for a real grocery store or big box store that could bring taxes into the city. Just like all the other corrupt business owners, nature has away of dealing with them until their business is no longer relevant. Way to go Wells Fargo!
Several months ago they were forced to use E-verify. Guess they just couldn't cut it without illegals to exploit.
Please recall that there have already been other "big box store" failures at this site: Best Buy and Circuit City.
I don't know the answer here, but if Safeway/Lucky's/etc didn't want to move into the shopping center before, why would they want to move in now? What has changed economically to convince them to take over either the Best Buy or Mi Pueblo spaces?
This is not a criticism - it is a question that requires an intelligent response. Without a logical (and profitable) presentation - no other grocery store will show up (fyi - grocery stores have very, very low margins).
Dear Neighbors and Friends,
I am the exec. Dir. for Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN). We are currently serving many of Palo Alto residents who are working these meanial jobs. When a business like Mi Publeo or any other business fails too often it put their employees and their famalies in crisis. Should you know of any Palo Alto resident who needs help please have them contact us. Everyone deserves to be treated with sensitivity and respect.
What We Do:
We are a group of volunteers striving to provide groceries to Palo Alto families, seniors and singles who are unable to qualify for 'safety net' programs like Cal Fresh (formally food stamps) or food closet assistance. However, extra food items collected are given to local food closets. Also, our City of Palo Alto Family Resources trained volunteer provides peer counseling and referrals for other life's challenges (housing, healthcare, professional counseling, legal issues, etc.) for those who may need extra help.
