I think Patraeus should be retained as head of CIA.

Allow a CIA chief who can be compromised that easy?
Awfully forgiving of you. Glad you're so forgiving of cheaters like Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, Larry Craig, John Edwards, Rudy Giulliani, Bill Clinton, and all the rest.
But a CIA head?

Sherry, sounds like you are blaming this on the woman. Hath the general no role here?
Funny that Sherry forget Ronald Reagan in the pantheon of presidential cheaters.

It is not a security risk, if they cannot be blackmailed. Pretaeus, according to present reporting, cut it off. I think he has learned his lesson. I also think he is too valuable to step aside. This country needs him, just like we needed IKE and FDR. Even JFK, with all his cheating, was not a security threat to this country, as long as he did not feel the threat of blackmail...if forced to confront the issue, he would probably just toss it aside with a one liner, like, "I am my father's son! ...Next?
I agree with Diane Feinstein. We need Pretaeus.
