The store to look forward to is the 65K sq foot Safeway in Mountain View. The others are typical small, understocked grocery stores that are common in Palo Alto, so that JJ&F will not have too much competition. The large Safeway, will be well-stocked, roomy and I am sure, a pleasure to shop in (as is the Safeway in Menlo Park).

3 mini marts doesn't sound like a flock and won't give much choice to those of us who are not in walking distance to any of them. (By the way, I noticed some shopping bags on wheels which looked very practical for anyone living within walking distance which would hold a couple of bags worth of groceries, for something less than $20 in IKEA). :)
I'm with svatoid, looking forward to the decent sized Safeway opening in Mountain View.
