Yeah - too controversial for this publication, methinks. Plus, most people in Palo Alto refuse to believe that their own PD does racial profiling.
Years ago, I was stopped pretty much for being white in EPA, after visiting a friend. I had mixed feelings about it, but mostly chalked it up to standing out in that particular area. But as a white female, I have the privilege of not worrying too much how I'll be treated by the police. Ironically, one of the *rudest* officers I've ever dealt with was a PAPD officer who, throughout our interaction, made fun of my ethnic background until his sergeant pulled him away.

Palo Alto is a different town than East Palo Alto

Yes, EPA is a different city from PA, but that doesn't mean that PA resident should not care about what is happening to their neighbors.
