City to encourages residents to walk around town

Many of the ideas suggested are good ones but one problem persists. I walk with a friend regularly side by side. Unfortunately, there is not a block in Palo Alto where bushes and branches do not grow over the sidewalk preventing two people from walking side by side.
An effort needs to be made to clear sidewalks and cut back low overhanging branches. Homeowners seem to be oblivious to the fact that the sidewalk belong to Palo Alto and not to them. Please cut back your overhanging branches and sprawling bushes.

Here is the link to this story:
This article is hysterical. Have you read some of the quotes:
1) "Kniss policy analyst Linda Leu suggested naming one route "I had too much dessert to eat last night." "
2)"Leu suggested expanding San Francisco's "Waving Wednesdays" where bikers salute each other to include those in cars as well. "
If Kishimoto and Kniss are behind this, I will be driving as much as possible.

The city regulations require that all vegetation be cut back so it does not stick out onto the sidewalk. Also tree branches/leaves must be at least 8 feet above the sidewalk.
Please neighbors. Trim your overhanging bushes, etc., so they do not interfere with the effort by our mayor to encourage walking.

I propose renaming the city Titi-Poo and setting it to music.
