Recently they changed the menu by reducing the number of choices and our favorites were both removed. There are still some good options and the specials are usually good. They also changed the beefy fries to string fries which are pretty poor in comparison.
They used to have some interesting art on the walls which changed often, but these have been replaced by some framed photographs, not so interesting. They have also changed the dessert case and taken out some of the restaurant dividers. The worst thing is that they have now put in a couple of wall mounted tvs which even if you aren't interested in what is on tv, it still causes you to stare at them and is a big distraction from conversation around the table.
Lastly, several of the choices that those of us at our table selected were not available or only one portion was left. The food was as good as ever, but our overall experience was definitely not as good as usual. It seems we are not alone because I have never seen this restaurant so empty.
I do hope that this restaurant is not having a hard time as we will miss it considerably if it closes. We like the fact that we can walk to a nice restaurant for dinner and have a bottle of wine without having to drive home afterwards. However, if this latest experience becomes the norm, I can't see how it will survive.
