This Year’s Arts and Wine Festival
Original post made by Paul Losch on Aug 29, 2011
I have been going to this event for years, and it is a terrific tradition not just in Palo Alto, but in many communities here in the Bay Area, and similarly in other communities all over the country.
It is great to run into people, check out the improvements in the "junk food"knishes, calamari, garlic fries come to mindtake in the chalk objets d'arte along Tasso…
The rest of it? Same old same old.
I went Sunday morning, and one of my children went another time on Sunday. For both of us, it was déjà vu all over again.
On a positive note, it attracts many visitors to Palo Alto, and it again was well done this year. Back in the day, I purchased some items at the Festival, and enjoyed the music. This year, I had neither experience.
This is an important part of many annual events that take place in Palo Alto. It needs some freshening.
What was your experience?

Everything is overpriced. So, we no longer go. On the same week-end, we attend a street festival in another Bay Area town instead. Sorry Palo Alto.

We do not see what benefit this event brings to Palo Alto-it just disrupts traffic and local businesses.
Next year it should move to Greer Park or the Baylands.
