City Council Job Performance Poll

As someone who is struggling at present with an add on rather than a full remodel, I am get increasingly infuriated with the red tape that goes on in the planning department. Trying to get our inspections passed is becoming a nightmare. We call out one inspector who fails us on some small technical matter. We get it fixed and call out someone again. He then also fails us on something the first guy thought was OK. Once again, we call out another individual and he comes and finds something else wrong. We have deliberately chosen an architect and a contractor who both have plenty of Palo Alto experience so that they should (a) know the inspectors and (b) know the way to get these inspections done first time, and they all say that this is just the norm. Are there are a certain number of inspections that must fail just to prove that these guys are doing their job, or what exactly is the reason why they cannot all do the same job the same way and tell us all the things that need to be fixed, then when they are done, give us the seal of approval. Maybe if they passed more first time, or at least gave us a list which when done would be passed, we could cut down on the number of inspectors and save the city some money.
So, my poll of satisfaction with the planning department is no, I am not happy.

Without a few comments this poll will just get hidden at the bottom of the heap and no one will see it.
