Go Cardinal Hoops!

Original post made by Paul Losch on Apr 5, 2010

March Madness Hoops this year has been great.

I am not one to obsess over sports, but I do appreciate what it can do for young people who participate in it, and the entertainment it provides.

How exciting that our Stanford women's team faces UConn on Tuesday. 2 incredibly good teams, it should be a good contest. The dynamics in women's basketball are different than the men's game, and in mnay ways make it a more intereting contest.

The final in men's hoops between Butler and Duke is quite an event. Duke is a very similar university to Stanford, and Butler reminds me a great deal of Gonzaga, which my son attended, and has a great basketball program.

Go on KNBR radio all day long and you can get opinions on how these two games will play out.

My forecast: UConn beats Stanford, and Duke beats Butler.

This may be the one and only time that I blog about sports.

Paul,

I watched the Duke vs Butler last night. Fantastic! As good as it gets.

I am now watching the Stanford vs U Conn womens' game. I always like to root for my own gender, but I have to say that it is a pale imitation of basketball, compared to the mens' game. The Paly boys' HS team could wipe out any NCAA womens' champion.

You may find it more interesting, but I do not. It is sloppy, unathletic and slow. It may end up being a close score, but so are turtle races.

Congratulations to the Stanford women! You should be very, very proud.
