No more Leadership Associates. That was 2007. Let's not repeat, let's use a different search firm. Having former PAUSD superintendent Don Phillips work with current PAUSD superintendent Kevin Skelly for the three years before Skelly was hired in 2007, and then having the former managing partner of Leadership Associates Rene Townsend serving as the consultant in 2007 and the facilitator in 2007 and 2014 for board retreats is just not looking proper. Kathleen Ruegsegger is the contact now, according to the PAUSD press release, and she was the contact in 2007. New blood is needed all around. Skelly was overdue to step down and he avoids all the coming messes that will have to be cleaned up for years. That will be his legacy. Charles Young needs to announce his departure as well. Voters can then decide how they feel in the November election, provided information is not kept from them this time.

Public participation will be limited to the usual suspects and their participation will occur out of public view. When regular not-connected people try to participate at Board meetings they will be treated like cranks and crackpots. Meanwhile the friends of the board will be able to get whatever they want and to bad mouth things like following the law of civil rights and paying more attention to social emotional health. It's all wired. PIE and PTAC have all the juice. Site councils are a joke, just figureheads. Walter Hayes PTA matters, everyone else can get bent. Get ready for Skelly 2, the Sequel. As long as Barb Mitchell is board president, we are getting nothing good. What kind of person would want to work in a place where secret closed meetings and fighting OCR are what you have to be willing to do? Someone who needs the job because they don't have a better option. Get ready, Skelly: the Sequel coming soon to a district near you.

Why even bother to write or tell the comments, the board and high influence teachers and parents will choose whoever they want. They want someone deaf and blind, and with bad memory, so they cannot do anything when parents complain. Someone just like Mr. Young who is deaf, blind, and who is with the PAUSD staff, not with justice. This is a wast of time.
