Caltrain has been asked to run more off-peak service in the past. They have responded that they don't have enough staff and equipment to expand. Meanwhile, our county governments just wasted $100 million on the Hwy 101 merging lane boondoggle. Thinking outside the box would be using that kind of money on public transit projects instead of more freeways.
