Gas Outage In Crescent Park or nearby? Anyone else?

I am not sure when this started by but I am not getting any gas to my residence
as of this afternoon.

This was apparently not work done by the city. There is no note of a shutoff and
my gas supply valve is open all the way, as usual.

I called the City number 329-2161 and press 1 to report an outage or problem.

The city says it does not have any reports of outages of anything that was
planned, and they do not respond except during business hours, so after all
day now I have to wait until tomorrow morning ... and get this, they will not
call me back or make an appointment, even though this is a problem on the
supply side.

Anyone else having gas problems?

This happened to us a couple of weeks ago. The utility workers had been working on our gas lines about a week after they told us they were finished. They turned off our gas supply before digging up our driveway AGAIN (for the fourth time in less than three weeks). Bad enough that we could not park in our driveway AGAIN, but this time they forgot to turn our gas back on, and it was really cold in the mornings and evenings. Bad enough in itself, but two of us were sick with severe colds, one with pneumonia, and the two small grandchildren ( one of which is a newborn) could not get warm enough!

Called the Utility Dept and they told us to turn on the gas ourselves. We tried, but could not hear that slight hiss of gas flow. Called the Utility Dept back, and they denied that their workers turned off the gas, or were even at our address!!! Go figure! Almost all of our appliances are gas, not electric, so we could not cook, bathe, or dry freshly washed laundry, and it was too cold to hang clothes outside ( or inside) to dry.

To make a long story short, we had no gas until the next day, after sleeping in sweatclothes in sleeping bags under down comforters all night. Cold breakfasts on a freezing cold morning-- the baby had to drink thawed, cold breast milk once Mom left for work. Completely unannounced, we had two Utility Dept workers in our driveway working on the gas line-- after their telephone person denied that they had even been here the afternoon before!

I guess we simply get what we pay for--after all, the rates here are cheaper than PG&E , and include garbage and water. But we still do not know why they dug up our gas line four times, since they denied the fourth digging.

BTW, they hurriedly covered up the large hole they left in our driveway, and it looks like H-E-double hockey sticks. it is unsealed, unlike the rest of the driveway--not good,in this rain, and the Utility Dept says they are FINISHED in our neighborhood. Not in my book, they're not!
