Three times a week, advanced art students at Palo Alto High School take to an outdoor glass blowing studio to craft everything from cups and vases to miniature pumpkins and snails. It’s part classroom, part professional setup — and for kids, it’s a chance to make teamwork while they make art.
Wonderful! Makes me want to do it, too.
As an artist, I’m thrilled to know our kids are exposed to such a wonderful class.
Isn’t it somewhat dangerous to do glass blowing? My father used to do it for a Ho by when I was a child, and he was told later that it had contributed to his lung and sto ach cancer ( he was not a smoker or drinker).
I have since been told that glass blowing co tributes to lead poisoning, which my father also suffered from.
