Do our schools have Twitter accounts and can they text our students in an emergency?

This does not have to just be for big, rare emergencies but for practical, common, minor emergencies.

For example, there was serious flooding on Paly campus on recent rainy days and alerting parents and students that certain parking lots, entrances, etc. were impassable would have been useful knowledge before people left home. Also, with the flooding around some of the portable classrooms, alternate arrangements could have been given to affected students.

Road construction, traffic police, power outages, mountain lion sightings,Caltrain delays, are all things that have impacted our schools in my career as a PAUSD parent and a method of contacting everyone a warning or heads up quickly seems sensible to me now that this technology exists.

I would like to know what other parents think and whether other school districts in the area have taken this technology on board.

The flooding at Paly has been around for years and is actually better than it used to be. How do Caltrain delays affect students?
