A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a stabbing that seriously injured an unidentified man in East Palo Alto early Monday morning, Sept. 3, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress inside a home at 1112 Newbridge St. at 3:21 a.m. When they arrived, they found a resident suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. The victim was treated at the scene then taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Later in the morning, a 17-year-old male called police to report that he had been robbed and cut. During questioning, police said he admitted he was involved in the stabbing and was arrested. He was booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Acting Captain Jeff Liu said police have yet to identify the victim in the case, who remained unconscious Monday afternoon.

“We’ll just have to wait until he wakes up and see what we can find out,” Liu said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police dispatch at 650-321-1112. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call or text 650-409-6792, or send an email to epatipnow.org.

  1. Why do they call these thugs “boys”. A 16 or 17 year old criminal does not look like a boy. You hear boy and think elementary school age inocent boy. These 16 and 17 year old commit these crimes because they know they will get leniancy because of their age. Anyone over 15 should be treated as adults when commiting these types of crimes. That would reduce this gang violence that is normally commited by these young scumbags.

  2. I believe the poor victim was the owner of the hair salon on newbridge called rosie’s were I normally take my son and husband he was a good guy my prayers go out for him and his family hope he makes it throw :((…
