Nearly 20 years ago, Midtown resident Sylvia Gartner went to a city council meeting, waved a paper bag and said, "If I can't put something in here and take it home, it shouldn't be in the shopping center."

My family and I love it here. Midtown is definitely the best value for money in Palo Alto. Not the cheapest, but you definitely get the most for what you pay.

Shame that Butterfly Life had to close due to rents. It seems that the rents for downtown keep outing businesses and the same has happened to Butterfly Life.

We have the new development in the old gas station beside Winter Lodge and no sign of anyone taking that on.

We don't want to go back to the days of empty shop fronts in Midtown.
