EPA man admits role in June Children's Theatre burglary

Original post made on Apr 22, 2008

For more than a month, Palo Alto police have known that 20-year-old Abraham Esquivias Torres "readily admitted" he broke into the Palo Alto Children's Theatre last June and stole traveler's checks, money and equipment. Detectives knew others were involved.
Yet that information wasn't made public until Tuesday evening when the department finally issued a press release.

It's reassuring to know that Palo Alto police don't read newspapers.

The great majority of it was a rehash of stuff we've read more than once already. It seemed to me that there really wasn't that much that was new information. Just another little crumb to stall for more time and make it appear that something is happening. That was the same impression I had at the last round of "news". Didn't you love the little Bush-like "hard work" statement near the end?

I will remind myself never to report burglary at my home! This is beginning to look like
the most incompetent police department in the country. What a witch hunt. They don't read the newspapers?
It was the Palo Alto Weekly that dug into this story and I think knew more than the PAPD!!
and told THEM about it.
