Outpouring of support for theatre, Litfin

Original post made on Feb 5, 2008

More than 30 speakers, aged 8 to 80, showed up at the Palo Alto City Council meeting Monday night to memorialize Michael Litfin, the assistant director of the Palo Alto Children's Theatre who died last Friday. Even the council passed a resolution recognizing Litfin's three decades of coaching of young actors, following voice-cracking emotional statements by Mayor Larry Klein and Councilman Jack Morton. I am so proud of the young people in our community showing how improtant Michael was to each and every one of us. I thank them for speaking up for those of use who could not be there...
Michael was an amazing man and still is in so many of our hearts.
I am lucky to have known him and lucky to have him watching over me.
