Christiane Cook,

What does the foreman's race have to do with your story? He is "white" so therefore he is taking advantage of (assumed) minorities? And what does your membership in the ACLU have to do with your ability to objectively assess day worker centers? Who cares if you're in the ACLU. Make your point.
By injecting race into your story you undermine some possibly worthwhile points. I guess Latino foreman must all pay their workers fair wages.

Steve, you do realize that the simplest way to stomp out any opposition is to imply that everyone opposing it is racist?

Yes, I certainly do. It's a tactic frequently employed by some on the Left. I am not implying "everyone" is racist in my commment above...and I didn't mean to imply that Christiane is racist. But the fact that she thought the foreman's race was somehow important to the main point (unfair wages) does suggest some bias.
