Haven't you heard? The city recently introduced an "improved" website that everyone "likes" a lot, although there is a small disgruntled subset consisting of 98% of the users who think it sucks royally.

One good thing, "Why do people want to move into Palo Alto" - it's the schools stupid!!!!

People move to Palo Alto because of the people already here. Schools do not work miracles, but families that value education will make any school look good. Those families move here, in spite of the foolishness at City Hall, because of us.

No question it is the schools. Or they are uninformed about most things going on in the city. Or they are developers or people supporting developers who plan to move to Portola Valley, etc as soon as their business is done here. Or they are exectives of the big companies looking out for the companies to be sure they don't pay taxes and can do what is good for the company and the private enclave they live in.

Hey, I moved here because of the great weather, nice neighborhoods, walkability, intelligent people, etc. etc. Why all the negativity?

I agree with Periwinkle. I am not thrilled with how the city is run and there are definitely a bunch of things that need to be improved - but it's the people who make the place. I like to think that ALL we have to do is fix City government and make some policy & facility improvements, and this place will really kick butt!
