Well, I confess. I am the person who left the notorious PAPER SHREDDER at my curb for many days (couldn't have been 3 whole weeks, though). (Aug 31, section 2 Web Link). Lynn Smith, crescent park resident, wrote a letter to the Weekly, and provided more details. Apparently he/she took photos, and chronicled several other perpetrators as well. Even more fun, Lynn, or some other concerned ciitzen, took it upon him/herself to send me - anonymously - a color printout of the article, with yellow highlighting of the line about the shredder. Addressed to "Resident" at my address. If I don't know who you are, how can I thank you for your concern?
Rest assured, Lynn, that it was a misunderstanding that led to that shredder being out there for so long. It wasn't even ours, and it didn't get the "Free" sign on it right away. Ahh well, good to know we have such alert neighbors, looking out for our common welfare. [Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.]
