well, THAT'LL show em! The nerve of them- asking for some customer information to improve the site they provide you for FREE!

I didn't see that survey, but I am not thrilled when some random site requires that I "register" before getting access, and asks for a lot of personal information, like my household income, so I also make stuff up.
Esp. a tv site survey, where you know they think anyone over 40 doesn't count, so I automatically become 30 with a very good income on those sites.

I am not a big fan of surveys either, and this one was worse, because it is very badly implemented. First, if your browser was not set to accept cookies, you got a blank page. The page should at least tell the user that you have to set your browser to accept cookies. I was able to figure it out, because I work for a web company, other people might not have been so lucky. Secondly, after completing the survey I was redirected to an error page. That's not a good user experience.
The biggest mistake, though, is in making the survey mandatory. All that does is ensure that you gather a lot of garbage data. In the end, voluntary surveys provide better data.
